Week 5 Cours Map

First, I'd like to say thank you to everybody who's been coming out to race these first four weeks. The weather has been great and the racing has been tight!

Below you will find this week's course map. The forecast calls for what will probably be the hottest evening yet, so come prepared with plenty of water.

Reviewing attendance and how the races have been playing out over the last few weeks, it has been decided that we should reshuffle the race schedule a bit. Primarily, we will be adding a Women's C race and moving the Women's B race.

Here's a draft schedule, changes in bold:
5pm--Kid's race
5:15pm--Women's C and Juniors (Staggered Start)
5:45pm--Men's C
6:10pm--Men's B
6:40pm--Women's A, B, and Singlespeed (Staggered Start)
7:15pm--Men's A

Please let us know whether you like this schedule or not. Barring any changes, this is how we will run races for weeks 6 through 12.

Week 4 Course Map

This week, you'll get a reprieve from the climbs, but this course offers up some new challenges. A good start will be crucial in this fast, technical course, and passes will have to be carefully planned.

Week 3 Results

Week 3 results can be found HERE. The link on the sidebar has been updated and now directs you to a page that contains results for each week of racing, including all thirteen events from last summer.

Thank you to everyone who came out and raced! We got extremely lucky with the weather not once but twice yesterday. We once again had a bunch of prizes from Panache, YellowBelly, Skratch Labs, and Green Guru. Boulder Cycle Sport was also at the event providing basic mechanical support, and will be at the event every week.

It looks like we've had some photographers at the event; if you are one, or know one, have them contact us at cucyclingshorttrack@gmail.com and we can give them a shoutout on the blog.

Speaking of blogs, aren't they just so 2005? Stay tuned, we are working on a Facebook page.

Weather Update For Week 3

It looks like there are a couple afternoon thunderstorms rolling in over the mountains today that could threaten races if they blow up enough.

It's only 2pm and we have three hours until the kid's race rolls out, so for now just be advised that there is the possibility of delays or even cancellations. Stay tuned to Twitter and Facebook, and of course your weather apps.

We can deal with a little rain, but the biggest thing to watch out for is lightning. If there is a lightning strike within 6 miles of our location we must suspend activities until 30 minutes after the last strike.

Our CU representative uses WeatherBug to track the lightning.

Week 3 Course Map

Here's the week 3 course map!

Now that most of you have your numbers for the season, registration should go faster this week. At this point, you should only have a number in the thousands with a red banner. Don't forget these! You will be charged $10 if your number has to be replaced.

Attendance has been stellar the past couple weeks, so keep it up! With this in mind, though, please try to show up as early as possible for registration. With the crowds we've been getting, even if things go perfectly the lines will likely be a little long at times.

Don't forget, we have prizes each week for the winner of every race! These come courtesy of generous donations from Skratch Labs, Yellowbelly, Panache, and Green Guru.

Short Track Week 2 Results

Find results Here.

Last night offered some incredible racing, and some large fields too. Thanks to everybody who came out! Also thanks to everybody for bearing with us as we sorted out registration; we will work on streamlining the process for next week.

On that note, you should now have a numberplate with a red banner and a number higher than 1000. This is your number for the rest of the season! Do not throw it out, do not lose it! Replacement is $10. Also do not bring your old numberplate (all white, number less than 1000). If you race multiple races and stack your numbers together, make sure that one is not in the stack.

There were several issues with race 1 results. Those have now been corrected.

If you still have questions/comments/concerns, please email cucyclingshorttrack@gmail.com. Comments on the blog are great, but difficult to respond to directly.
